Tuesday 25th April saw Claremont’s debut at the renowned Workplace Event at the NEC in Birmingham.

Not only was it our event debut, but it was the first showcase of our brand new ‘Big Yellow C’ event stand, fully equipped with a project table, a couple of perch desks, a bespoke Workplace Event mood-board, large screen, biophilic wall, acoustic panels, topped off with our incredible Virtual Reality experience. Turns out, this new stand was a big hit!

Throughout the three days of The Workplace Event, we were inundated with visitors to our famous ‘Big Yellow C’ – with a resounding curiosity about what the future of the workplace looks like, and how it might work for them. A stand-out highlight for the whole team was the open mind and progressive approach to workplace design that so many visitors brought over to us at the stand, the view that they wanted to do the right thing by their colleagues and provide them with a space they felt happy, healthy, productive and safe in. We all enjoyed walking them through how to begin their journey towards a space that does all this and exploring the art-of-the-possible through an immersive VR experience on the stand.

Alongside the buzz of activity on the stand, we introduced The Workplace Oooh! to the masses. On Tuesday, we packed out The Knowledge Hub and took the audience on a journey of how and why The Workplace Oooh! came about, what the data tells us, and importantly, the implications of this for workplace design and the user experience. The whole premise of The Workplace Oooh! was further validated by the common undertone across many of the event thought leaders; that employees expect the workplace to now consider people on a human level, reflecting this in their workplace experience.

The Workplace Oooh! sits at the heart of this human-centric movement, providing data insights uncovering exactly what these expectations are on an emotional level, and how we can design workspaces to evoke these feelings. We thoroughly enjoyed our few days at The Workplace Event and cannot wait to return next year!
