During 2020 the team at Claremont took part in a number of charity activities up until March which is when we had to come up with new and innovative ideas to raise money whilst all being on lockdown and working remotely.

The year started off as usual where the team had chosen our Charity to support and host fundraising activities all year round in order to give a donation at the end of the year!

The year began with our traditional Claremont Breakfast spread we did for Valentines day, we raised a total of £62.70 which is an incredible start for the year!

The year then took a turn for the worse and left everyone stuck indoors which restricted pretty much all of our traditional fundraising actvities we host every year which  meant for a new and exciting project to run which led on to be our ‘Virtual Charity Challenge!’ A group of around 12 colleagues all planned to cover the distance from the top of the UK all the way down to Lands End which the team smashed!

In partnership with Search Consultancy, we collected food donations for 5 local food banks to help support local communities in crisis over the festive period. Alongside Search Consultancy, we ran this initiative through The Trussell Trust, who support a nationwide network of food banks by providing food and support to people locked in poverty, and campaign for change to end the need for food banks in the UK.

Food banks are forecast to give out six emergency food parcels a minute this winter, a 61% increase on last year.

The five Food Banks we have supported are:

  • Manchester Central Foodbank
  • Oldham Foodbank
  • Stockport Foodbank
  • Atherton & Leigh Foodbank
  • Salford Foodbank
