Bromford Housing
case study
Empowering people is part of our brand DNA and it’s now at the heart of our workplace experience. With Claremont’s help, creativity and commitment to the project, our team now has the very best, inspiring and varied work environment in which to thrive. The project includes some real stand-out design features which have really delighted the team – including the new double height training space and the bold use of colour throughout.
Bromford Housing
The big idea
- Create a training and community hub
- Create an outside area offering flexible working settings
- Empower hybrid working
Across the two sites – Shannon Way and Venture Court – Claremont’s design is rich in variety and choice. It includes a plethora of colourful and engaging spaces to suite Bromford’s wide variety of needs – from quiet fixed desk working, through to huddle spaces for group work, dedicated rooms for meetings, hot desks for hybrid workers, quiet spaces to ‘get away’ and flexible breakout spaces for socialising, training and more.
Although open plan, clever zoning has been achieved through the use of colour, furniture and flooring, as well as creative partitioning which doubles up as storage and provides important noise attenuation.
Nailing the brief
At Shannon Way, the redesign of the former ground floor depot into a striking training and community hub is a particular triumph. A double height ceiling and mezzanine level creates a capacious space that evokes a wow, offers flexibility and provides access to a newly created outdoor area.
The inclusion of showers and locker storage also supports Bromford’s goal of encouraging its team to use more environmental modes of transport.
The design also includes vastly improved internet capacity and WiFi, video conferencing and integrated collaboration technologies to allow complete agility within the building.
The final result
Memorable and flexible, Bromford now has two work environments that strike the balance between supporting fixed location workers and creating an inviting space for hybrid workers to coalesce, as and when they need.
Both environments reflect Bromford’s brand strong DNA – bringing it to life and creating the ‘community feel’ that was so important to the senior leadership team.
The finished spaces pre-empted the Covid legacy. They offer all the flexibility, choice and sociability required of a destination office – a gain that has also helped Bromford to relinquish other no-longer needed sites.
