Pixel Toys
case study
Claremont’s design and fit-out of the second floor exceeded our expectations. We now have a highly cohesive, fun and agile space that gives us everything we need for the next chapter of our growth. We’re a distinct business and now we have an enhanced workspace to match.
Stella Chidzik, Office Manger
The big idea
- Replicate the company’s ethos
- Design and build an additional floor in the current building
- Create a new employee-centric look and feel in the new floor
Nailing the brief
The new floor replicates the strong look and feel of Claremont’s past project for Pixel, but with a new fresh flavour. Exposed utilities, the use of warm wood finishes and splashes of bold colours give the office a playful, inviting and industrial feel. It’s a distinct design and even the desks stand-out walnut worktops and orange pedestals provide extra personality.
Enhancing collaboration, creating community and offering choice was high on Pixel’s agenda and the inclusion of a phone box, small meeting spaces, kitchen tables and booths achieve that in spades.
The design also embodies Pixel’s ambition – not only is there ample room for growth with the addition of 60 extra desks, but there’s a custom-designed spotlight-lit awards cabinet in reception. After all, you’ve got to have somewhere to put your trophies!
The final result
Pixel’s new space is bold, ample and blends perfectly with its existing office on the first floor. It supports Pixel’s highly collaborative way of working and creates the sort of distinct, vibrant and relaxed workspace that the best gaming talent commands. Completed on time and to budget, with minimal disruption to the Pixel team and the building’s other tenants, this project was a winner!
