The seamless integration of design, functionality, and aesthetics created a vibrant and inspiring environment that has greatly enhanced our productivity and team morale. The entire process, from initial consultation to final execution, was smooth, efficient, and well-coordinated.

The big idea
When the award winning restaurant group San Carlo chose to move its HQ, they went all out. They landed in Manchester’s iconic Arkwright House, a Grade II-listed gem in the centre of the city. As the UK’s largest independent family-owned restaurant group, they wanted a space that didn’t just work on a functional basis, it needed to feel like home.
That’s where Claremont came in, tasked with creating a luxury HQ that reflects the warmth of hospitality and the Italian roots of the Distefano family. Inspired by Sicily’s rich colours, we built a space that’s as welcoming as it is stunning.
Nailing the brief
This space goes beyond the typical office, it’s a full hospitality experience. High-end finishes, wall panelling, warm lighting, and walnut wood details blend effortlessly with the building’s historic character, making it feel like the space was always meant to be there.
Guests are greeted by a large blossom tree, a playful reference to San Carlo’s successful spot in Manchester Airport’s Terminal 2, while each meeting room takes design inspiration from the group’s restaurant portfolio, with unique styling and names to match.
The final result
We delivered a workspace that’s full of heart and brimming with brand identity. It’s got zones for focused work, open areas for big ideas, and a breakout space buzzing with real Italian coffee.
Claremont delivered more than just an office: we created a place where the San Carlo team can thrive, collaborate, and connect, with an atmosphere that’s as dynamic and welcoming as the restaurants themselves.
