Sustainable workplaces

We’re proud to be a carbon neutral company, and we’re just getting started! Sustainability is something we’re genuinely passionate about, and we’re leading the way in our industry by setting clear ESG goals for each year ahead.

How we make projects more sustainable

Our Managing Director, Tim Frankland, puts it perfectly:

“At Claremont, we’re all about balancing our environmental impact, social wellbeing, and stakeholder values. We’re focused on cutting carbon emissions, supporting our community, and always improving the way we do things.”

How we’re sustainable
at Claremont

Sustainability is woven into everything we do, and ESG (Environmental, Social Impact, and Governance) is at the heart of it. From our solar panels to carbon-neutral fit-outs, we’re committed to doing everything we can to create a more sustainable future, and we’re proud to work with clients who share our goals.

Our goals

We’ve got big plans for the future of sustainability at Claremont. Here are six key goals we’re working towards to make our business even greener.

Travel and transport

We’re aiming to have 50% of our fleet switched to electric or zero-emission vehicles by the end of 2025. Plus, we’re big on encouraging car sharing and using public transport wherever possible!

Sustainable sourcing

We’re continuing to work with ISO 14001 certified suppliers, growing our network of 600+ supply chain partners, and investing in our eco traffic light system to help clients make greener choices when selecting products.

Energy and efficiency

We’ve already implemented solar panels across our head office, reducing our energy consumption by 35%, we’ve also moved to a more sustainable supplier of grid energy and will continue to monitor and reduce energy consumption.

Waste

Our average on site waste recycling is currently at 95%, we’re committed to achieving 100%.

Planning and resilience

On-site we are achieving an impressive 8.5% year-on-year reduction to our carbon footprint and aim to continue to back carbon offsetting projects. On top of that, we’ve rolled out our new re-use, re-purpose, and recycle initiative!

Education

We’re believers in investing in internal and external education and advice on sustainable construction. We will keep developing our sustainable-led internal culture via our internal SKA, WELL, BREEAM and Fitwel accredited consultants.

Environmental – creating a sustainable future
Social – creating an impact
Governance – creating a business to be proud of

2023

Powered by the sun

Our solar panels were installed at our Warrington Design Studio by Eco Mirage Ltd, supporting us in our journey to Carbon Net Zero. As a result, we can expect to see 12 tons of CO2 avoided per year, and a reduction in our design studio’s Carbon Footprint by 35% year-on-year. The unused generated energy is given back to the grid as green, clean energy.

2022

Carbon neutral

2022 was our first carbon-neutral year, and we’re on track to achieve this for a fourth year in 2025!

2020

Supporting charities

Each year, we select a local charity to support. In the past, we’ve supported charities like Clatterbridge Cancer, Warrington Disability Partnership, and Zoe’s Place.

2017

Apprenticeships

We offer apprenticeships and also support our supply chain in finding apprentices.
