The Vision
With the lease on their existing office coming to an end, Proxima made the strategic decision to relocate to larger premises at 2 Kingsway. The move allowed the business to increase its footprint, benefit from a newly fitted CAT A space, and create a workplace better suited to modern ways of working.
Claremont was appointed to transform the new 3,900 sq ft floor into a warm and welcoming environment that would balance collaboration, focus, and employee wellbeing.
The Design
Drawing directly from Proxima’s visual identity, the design incorporates the angular forms and geometric lines found within its brand guidelines, expressed through decorative finishes, acoustic features, flooring layouts and key furniture elements. A neutral palette provides a sophisticated backdrop for bold branded graphics, creating a cohesive and engaging workplace experience.
Designed to support a variety of workstyles, the workplace centres around a generous tea point, social hub and flexible collaboration space. A range of meeting, focus and wellbeing settings, including a boardroom, collaboration booths, focus rooms and a contemplation room, are complemented by practical amenities that support day-to-day operations.
The End Result
The completed workplace delivers a flexible, future-ready environment that supports collaboration, focused work and employee wellbeing within a distinctive, highly branded setting. By combining reused furniture and carpet with carefully selected new elements, including FSC-certified joinery and acoustic products made from recycled plastic bottles, the project balanced sustainability with a fresh, contemporary aesthetic. Inclusive design principles were embedded throughout, while a flexible central collaboration space enables the workplace to adapt to different activities and events. As Proxima’s first office delivered under its new global design approach, the Cardiff project has created a strong foundation for future workplaces, reflecting the brand, supporting its people and enabling confident growth.
