Nichols plc is a leading UK soft drinks specialist, with a brand portfolio including a number of household names such as Vimto, Levi Roots, Sunkist and Panda. Its offices in Newton-le-Willows presented the company with a number of problems in terms of poor use of space, lack of brand expression and outdated facilities. The team at Nichols plc were impressed with Claremont’s fresh, creative approach and decided to appoint Claremont to undertake the refurbishment.

Nichols plc consulted with its staff to identify key areas of its environment that needed improving, and came up with a comprehensive brief for Claremont. It decided that its existing reception area was too small, and that poor use was made of space across all office areas.
There was a lack of informal meeting spaces for its teams, and the décor across the entire premises was tired and in need of modernisation. It also needed to extend its meeting room
capacity, and to address storage space issues in the building. Claremont faced the additional challenges of working while the client was in occupation, and delivering an ambitious vision
within budget.
Claremont has delivered a comprehensive refurbishment of the space, answering all aspects of Nichols plc’s brief. A range of different spaces have been created, including a variety of meeting and conference rooms, integrated with audio visual technology to enhance communication and collaboration in the company.
A special auditorium space has been created to allow the company to deliver high impact presentations for internal teams and external partners, supporting Nichols plc’s aim of better communicating its vision with its stakeholders.
The reception has been fully refurbished to provide a spacious, welcoming environment, with the Vimto brand history brought to the fore with a bespoke graphic wall installation. Branded graphics have also been integrated throughout the office space to assert Nichols plc’s brand personality.
Informal meeting and breakout areas have been integrated throughout the building, to provide a variety of spaces for staff to meet, connect and socialise. On the exterior of the building, terrace decking has been created to take advantage of the company’s real estate, providing a welcome outdoor space for staff to use.
Claremont managed to achieve all aspects of Nichols plc’s brief, finding innovative solutions to create a wow factor without breaking the budget. A particular challenge was the fact that all the work had to be carried out while the client was in occupation of the building, which meant that phased works had to be timetabled carefully to minimise disruption to the business.
Claremont used innovative answers to help us to achieve all we wanted while staying within budget. They showed that they understood our brand with playful but understated touches, and the flexibility of the spaces they’ve created means that our environment can evolve as the company
grows.
